Benefit Cosmetics Bathina ‘Take a Picture it Lasts Longer…’ Body Balm

Overall Rating

Benefit is famous for its funky, old-fashioned and great products: Bathina body balm is a good example of that.

Bathina ‘Take a Picture it Lasts Longer…’ is a glimmering body balm. It’s pricey — $30. However, the case is pretty big, so it doesn’t feel like a total ripoff. The case is very cute: 50s style tin box filled with pink balm and Bathina’s velvety puff. When I hold this thing in my hands, I feel like a flirty girl from the fifties’ movie. To me, just that feeling is worth 30 bucks. 🙂

The purpose of this balm is to add a light, golden-pink sheen to your legs and body. I bought Bathina right before a trip to Mexico and used it every day over there. The balm gave my skin a subtle and seductive sheen that looked like a combination of natural glow and transparent glimmer. With this balm, my skin doesn’t look and feel oily (that’s why I avoid body oils like NARS Monoi Oil) or sticky. Also, this balm doesn’t stain your clothes. I would usually wear it to the beach and in the evenings. Under certain light (like direct sun and evening lights), Bathina-treated skin will look particularly sexy and healthy. Bathina balm is not particularly moisturizing (and it’s not supposed to be) but it does give my skin a soft, velvety feel.

Benefit Cosmetics High Beam

Overall Rating

Benefit High Beam is a new favorite of my everyday makeup routine. It is an amazing liquid highlighter which is extremely easy to apply and that helps you look refreshed and glowing with no effort.

High Beam seems pricey — $26 for a small bottle (0.45 oz.). However, I think it is an amazing deal because you need to use just a little bit of it to create a perfect look.

The bottle is glass which is a nice touch and has a small brush applicator. The packaging is of good quality – you can easily take it with you for vacation and not worry if it will spill or break. The only thing I am not happy with is the brush applicator. It is a bit too thick for highlighting purposes, so I don’t use it. I apply High Beam with my fingertips – that way application is much easier, less messy and I use less product

Benefit Cosmetics Majorette (Cream Blush)

Overall Rating

This little cutie is one of the best blushes I’ve had so far. Benefit Cosmetics surprises me from time to time with absolutely great products. Majorette is certainly one of those.

When I bought Majorette, I didn’t really need a blush. I bought it because I fell in love with its look and design. This piece of makeup looks like it came to us from the happy 20s – cute, feminine, and playful. The case has a mirror but I don’t use it – I normally apply blush at home in front of a big mirror. The case is small but because of its round shape I find it a bit awkward to carry in the purse. But again, I don’t really use blush outside my home.

Majorette is $28 – a bit expensive for blush.  I am not sure how long it will last, so I cannot tell if it is a good deal for the money. Moreover, this is a cream blush, and I usually finish my cream products much faster than powder ones.
